“I know it’s cold, but you’re really not supposed to drive a car on the quad sidewalk.”
Received via text message on November 14, 2007 at 11:57 a.m.
“Everybody and their mom is trying to give people flyers or sell us stuff on the quad. Solution – keep your hands in your pockets.”
This one came via instant message at 8:55 a.m. today:
“I farted and thought it smelled like cat food…until I realized erin is giving penny moist cat food upstairs…”
That’s my girl…very visually-oriented. Nice…

“Pet a rabbit, learn how to live green.”
Again, a quad event.
This was a follow up on November 8 via instant message:
(8:58:22 AM): yeah, I’m not kidding, the guy was holding a bunny and saying “pet a rabbit, learn how to live green”
Sent November 7, 2007 at 11:35 a.m. via text message. This was in response to my text messages about the fire alarm going off at work and us having to go outside.
“Wish someone would pull the alarm here. This class is boring.”
This text message conversation took place on November 4, 2007 while we were on a road trip to Louisville, KY to see Delta Nove in concert. NOTE: We are normally in the Central Time Zone, but crossed into Eastern going into KY, AND on top of that had to deal with the end of Daylight Savings Time.
Bug (8:14 a.m.): Is it 7 or 8
Mom (8:17 a.m.): It’s 8 here…7 in Illinois.
Bug (8:18 a.m.): K back to sleep.
Mom (8:19 a.m.): Okay…
Bug (8:23 a.m.): Nevermind, I’m awake. Breakfast and pool?

“I was debating skipping class today, but decided to go. Now that I’m walking to class because the bus is late and my ipod is dead…I think I should have stayed home and napped.”

“It’s colder in our house than outside. Plus I can’t figure out how to work the thermostat. I’ve never been so excited at the idea of going to school to stay warm!”
(Average temperature in Central Illinois that day was 45 degrees).

“Help end world hunger, get a grilled cheese sandwich.”
(As seen by groups on the quad, selling – wait for it – grilled cheese sandwiches).

“Coldest day of fall so far and people are selling popsicles on the quad.”
